A Page of Narcissus 2014 (original artwork)
This study of daffodils was inspired by a trip to the local market where a lovely older gentleman was selling huge pots of narcissus bulbs that were just about to flower. So of course I bought as many as I could carry and decorated my lounge room with them. I then dedicated the next few weeks to sketching them as buds, and as the buds opened and the flowers were in full bloom. They are such beautiful flowers, I wanted to fill a page with them in their different stages of blooming.
This piece was drawn using Faber Castell Albrecht Durer pencils and then painted over with water, on Art Spectrum medium 210gsm paper, and measures 475 x 340mm.
